Was developed by the Company in 1984 to address alternative publications, including educational books, children's publications, textbooks and trade books other than poetry. The title of the subsidiary alludes to the lantern carried by the Blind Beggar in the company's logo which he uses to search for truth. The title and logo for this series was developed by C.D. Grant.
To date, this subsidiary has published books for The University of Lagos in Nigeria, the New York University Institute of Afro-American Affairs and a collection of posters and greeting cards with African-American and African themes, in addition to an art book and other specialized publications. Other special publications are on the drawing board.
